Guantanamo

I was watching the television program on channel 4 this evening entitled The road to guantanamo. While I realise that this was a dramatisation and intended to provoke a reaction it did serve to highlight the legal blackhole the people in Cuba, and other jails around the world, find themselves in. While some of the people in Guantanamo Bay may well be criminals everyone, and I mean everyone, deserves the right to:

a fair trial
knowing what evidence is being presented against them
knowing the extent of their punishment
knowing what they are charged with

I think we should all urge the prime minister and the rest of the house of commons to fight this terrifying, illegal torture camp and ensure that the people in the camp who are guilty are tried and sentenced, while those who are innocent are released with an apology by the US government.
