Sun Server testing
After getting apache etc working I thought coldfusion would be a piece of cake to get sorted but it turns out that isn't the case. I downloaded the install files - chmod'd them 755 and appeared to get it installed but was presented with an error like this:
[Mon Apr 3 17:21:36 2006] [notice] jrApache[5032:64802] Couldn't initialize from remote server, JRun server(s) probably down.
[Mon Apr 3 17:21:36 2006] [notice] jrApache[5032:64802] JRun will not accept request. Check JRun web server configuration and JRun mappings on JRun server.
[Mon Apr 3 17:22:38 2006] [notice] SIGHUP received. Attempting to restart
[Mon Apr 3 17:22:38 2006] [warn] Loaded DSO /opt/coldfusionmx7/runtime/lib/wsconfig/1/mod_jrun.so uses plain Apache 1.3 API, this module might crash under EAPI! (please recompile it with -DEAPI)
[Mon Apr 3 17:22:38 2006] [alert] httpd: Could not determine the server's fully qualified domain name, using 10.0.13.9 for ServerName
[Mon Apr 3 17:22:38 2006] [notice] jrApache[init] JRun 4.0 (Build 92909) Apache module - Feb 18 2005 07:11:57
[Mon Apr 3 17:22:39 2006] [notice] Apache/1.3.33 (Unix) JRun/4.0 mod_ssl/2.8.22 OpenSSL/0.9.7d configured -- resuming normal operations
[Mon Apr 3 17:22:39 2006] [notice] Accept mutex: fcntl (Default: fcntl)
# cat /opt/coldfusionmx7/runtime/lib/wsconfig/1/jrunserver.store
cat: cannot open /opt/coldfusionmx7/runtime/lib/wsconfig/1/jrunserver.store
It seemed that the machine was unable to make a connection to the jrun server which should have been installed along with the coldfusion server. I played around for a while and then decided to run the installer again to see if it would help. This time I was give the option to install jrun on the box which I duly did and was rewarded with the screen I was hoping to see on the cfadministrator!!! Now time to put the app on it and see how much quicker it goes on Solaris.
