Asterisk@homePosted 2 years, 11 months ago on May 1, 2006 by yerma Projects The Asterisk@home project is brilliant - I have got a full PBX system working at home now with about 2 hours work. It features conferencing/call waiting/wake up calls/Flash Operator panel/use of gizmo project/ring groups and so much more. I found the info available here was brilliant with regards to setting up the incoming and outgoing stuff for gizmo and which ports etc are required to be opened :) One thing it doesn't mention is that you need to set internal routes for default ring groups etc.
Next step is to move it close to the router so I don't have a cable dangling round the house and then either get a cheap ip phone or a convertor box. ---Comment Asterisk@homePosted 2 years, 11 months ago on April 29, 2006 by yerma Projects Am going to try another installation of asterisk@home, it's been about a year since I got it working last time but it's possible I might be able to use it properly as my parents are doing up a house at the moment. Am trying to convince them to use VOIP around the house and maybe for their phone lines depending on what internet connection they can get. As an internal PBX it would be perfect. Will post here if any probs but it should be easy I think. ---Comment Installing Raptor on OSXPosted 3 years, 4 months ago on December 1, 2005 by yerma Projects Project Raptor is a great new tool from Oracle for accessing 9i databases - it states on the homepage We support the Windows and Linux platforms today; Mac OS X support is planned for a future release. don't believe them!! Download the Non-Windows version and unzip it to a folder (I put everythying into the applications folder to ensure I know where it is - there was an issue with a foldr having a space in it's original location) then open your terminal navigate to /Applications and type chmod 755 raptor sh raptor You will then be asked for the path to your java installation - which is in /System/Library/Frameworks/JavaVM.Framework/Versions/1.5/Commands butthis will not work. To fix it open a new shell and navigate to the /System/Library/Frameworks/JavaVM.Framework/Versions/1.5/ directory - then create a symlink to commands from a folder called bin like so: cd /System/Library/Frameworks/JavaVM.Framework/Versions/1.5/ ln -S Commands/ bin Then just enter the following as your path to a j2se installation /System/Library/Frameworks/JavaVM.Framework/Versions/1.5 (no treailing slash) and you should be fine. I created an alias on my desktop pointing to a file in my scripts dir with the following in: #!/bin/bash # define the shell - could be sh if you want cd /Applications/raptor/ #all commands like this run from the homedir so cd is required sh raptor& # run the script and background it exit # leave the shell It's a great piece of kit and works very well for all the more modern Oracle DBs's. ---Comment
